Diptych No. 1: Foodie Reflections

We've been playing around with marble cheese and pastry boards at work these past few weeks. A couple of outtakes in the shoot below...

A few other notes:
// This was my first time having a fruit tart! I don't know how I went ALL MY LIFE without having such a delicious delicious pastry OMG.
// Did you know that shredding lemon peels down the garbage disposal helps clean that area? Not only does it smell good, it's also an all natural way of freshening things up a bit.

A diptych is essentially when two photos fit better together than they did apart.

Flowers and Light: Wild Roses

It was an early evening with unexpected light coming in. Like one of those days where time seemed leisurely and cameras were plenty.

There aren't many days like this where natural light is unassuming and generous. So, I do what I usually do, make maximum use of it. I dream of days just spent simmering in light.

I have a feeling my exploration of flowers with light will be a constant theme for me this year.

Palm Springs Photo Diary

You know when you have to go to something because you already booked it and you couldn't cancel it? That's how we ended up in Palm Springs this past weekend. Our 15 hours spent here consisted of being highly impressed (due to our nonexistent expectations)and basking in the sun rays that currently elude to my shoulders being more glowy now.

We spent the morning at Farm, a beautiful and hidden French restaurant that served delicious crepes, sandwiches, and blood orange juice!

Later, we sprawled across the poolside at the Ace Hotel sipping lemonade enjoying extraordinary heat in the desert.

At the end of our trips, we usually ask ourselves if we'd ever want to come back. And if so, in what situation and in what season? I definitely envision a yearly trip here...especially considering it's only 2 hours away!
